I'm sending flowers for someone else - what to write on the card?

I should explain: My best friends boyfriend called me in the middle of the night with his credit card and wants me to send flowers for their 2 year anniversary. . . He%26#039;s a thousand miles away.

I know his nicknames for her, I just need a really good romantic line from a guy%26#039;s perspective to put on the card.

Help me out!

I%26#039;m sending flowers for someone else - what to write on the card?

How to preserve flowers?

my boyfriend gets me flowers all for everything.. birthday, anniversary, if he made me mad, or just cuz. i have tried to preserve them before by letting them hang upside down while they dry out.. but they alwyas just get really dry and when i touch them they fall apart.. he jsut sent me tons of tulips saterday and i need a way to preserve them... a friend told me to cover each flower in hairspray but i dont want to ruin them... anyone know what i should do.

How to preserve flowers?
I just saw Martha Stewart dip flowers in parafin--wax used for canning. she had melted the wax and she dipped each flower twice.

If the tulips have bulbs and soil, plant them in your garden and they will come up next spring!
Reply:Put them in a book and dry them, Use a dehydrator or you can even freeze them.

I forgot our anniversary! What to do?

My husband got me this great boquet of flowers. Today is our third anniversary...I didn%26#039;t even know what they were for until I read the card a second time! I feel so terrible, but I want to make it up to him. He is going to be out of town for two days, what are some ideas to get him or do for him when he gets back?

I forgot our anniversary! What to do?
Girl you need to put something sexy in his suitcase and promise him a night he won%26#039;t forget when he gets home. A piece of lingerie or a sexy photo of you should do the trick.
Reply:well obviously you have already told him you forgot. That stinks and is a harsh blow for the person who remembered. You are going to have to come up with something very very good. Since he is going out of town you have 2 days to figure it out. Check out www.womenshelp.net. They have some great links for very unique and different gift ideas. Cook a great dinner, give him a massage, and make him know you love him!
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry - he%26#039;ll forgive you; make it worth his while, though!
Reply:I would say to forget it and wait til next year to get him something. The anniversary will already be over and that pretty much defeats the whole point. Maybe you could join him on his trip out of town. That would be a nice surprise and give you both some %26quot;alone%26quot; time. Thank you and good luck.
Reply:I am always the one to forget..I hate mushy stuff.

Well, You should of mentioned what city you live in so we could look it up...How about a weekend bed and breakfest weekend

Something fun...
Reply:Open wide and don%26#039;t complain.

Honestly - if men got a bj from their wife once a week I bet most men would be happy, they would rarely cheat on their wives, do more to make their wives happy, and the divorce rate would plummet.

My wife forgot my birthday last year. She said she was sorry and that was the end of it.
Reply:Damn...never heard of the woman forgetting..lol I would make sure when he gets home that you sex him good.. and maybe make him something nice to eat..
Reply:any day could be an anniversary day.......its both in body and mind......try out when he returns....
Reply:some kinky lingerie. dinner, hmmm, good question.
Reply:my hubby blew me off on v day appoligise and try not to froget next year go and pre pay for a gift to be deliverd next year now and romance him
Reply:Apologise and make up for it.... Surprise him when he comes back. I%26#039;m sure u%26#039;d noe better wat ur hubby likes or doesn%26#039;t. maybe u can make out his fantasies?
Reply:make something really big and play it off like because it was something really big you couldnt do it the day of, you had to wait a little while later...no worries..

Why would you buy her flowers?

It is not a special date. It is not your anniversary... Nobody bought me flowers, I%26#039;m not trying to find out a mistery, I want to know why would YOU! in a non-special occasion???

Why would you buy her flowers?
To remind her that you love her. Maybe you%26#039;re passing a flower-shop, you see them, and are reminded of when you first meet. That%26#039;s why women want flowers, you know. To know that you%26#039;re thinking about them when you%26#039;re away from them.
Reply:to make her happy! duh!
Reply:Just because you were thinking about her. You don%26#039;t need a reason to buy her flowers. It is really romantic and sweet of a guy to bring a girl flowers for no reason.
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t need to be a special occasion to say I Love you so there isn%26#039;t for gifts either. I think it is more special to give/get something for no reason rather than on a special occasion.
Reply:To make her feel special and to make her feel loved . Girls/women love flowers . It touches the heart .

Angel
Reply:well HE would buy me flowers because he loves me with all his heart and he missed me today while he was at work..i give him those butterflies when he kisses me and everytime is like the first kiss.
Reply:Why did a raindrop fall where it did?

Just because. Unconditional.

Why have a reason?
Reply:hmm.... I have to say ive never really seen the point in flowers, they cost a bomb and then they just die. Plus, as the old chiche goes, if a man buys a woman flowers its because he%26#039;s done something wrong... :) x
Reply:Because you love her

He forgot about our anniversary, Valentine's Day, my birthday, and now..?

My boyfriend of three years forgot our second anniversary. Valentine%26#039;s day of that year, I got a call around 10pm, when I was crying my eyes out. He didn%26#039;t say %26quot;Happy Birthday%26quot; until we were in bed at 11:30pm and I started to cry. Christmas I got a neck pillow in front of my family. Now, it%26#039;s our third anniversary and I got a call around 6pm with a Happy Anniversary. I sent him flowers and a balloon. We%26#039;re young, 21 %26amp; 23. Now we have a long distance relationship because he got out of the army and had to go back home to get back into the norm of civilian life.

I%26#039;m really upset that he keeps downplaying these days that are important to me. I always make his days special. When he had 6 months and 3 months left in the Army, I made him cakes and took him out. We%26#039;re getting engaged soon. Am I just setting myself up for a %26#039;forgetful%26#039; marriage?

He knows these days are important to me. However, he acts like I%26#039;m the one overreacting when I get upset. Wouldn%26#039;t any girl be devestated?

He forgot about our anniversary, Valentine%26#039;s Day, my birthday, and now..?
You see how he is going to be, and you probably can%26#039;t change him; either accept him that way or dump him and look for somebody that%26#039;s more sensitive and romantic.
Reply:I would be upset about the birthday. If it was a wedding anniversary I would be hurt as well. I personally would make it clear to him that you are seriously hurt over these things and that you need him to make more of an effort. There are a lot of ways he can remind himself of those days that are special to you. He should put in some effort. This could very well be your future if something doesn%26#039;t change. Give him a chance though. He may never match you in thoughtfulness, but he could make some better steps.
Reply:yes your in the right they are important days and if he does not see it that way now what makes you think he will once your married
Reply:Guys are bad with remembering dates. I have forgotten my own birthday before.

If it is that important to you, then you might want to find someone else. Either that, or learn to accept it. It sounds like he is not going to change.
Reply:NO you%26#039;re not overreacting.

If he knows these days are important to you and STILL don%26#039;t care about them, you really should reconsider marrying him. He either has the WORST memory in the world, is the most INSENSITIVE man in the world or down right doesn%26#039;t care about you like you should be cared for. Talk to him and see whats his explanation. If he continues to do this to you, kick him to the curb and find someone who will take the time to pay attention to you =) GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Some men are just like that. they dont remember anything or they just dont put any importance on it. This is probably not someone you would want to share your life with since he seems insenitive to your needs.
Reply:You know that he forgets, so remind him. Stop waiting for him to be like all the boyfriends you see in movies - that%26#039;s not how it is. Does he show affection on other days? If yes, be happy with what you have. He remembered the third at all, so that%26#039;s progress. E-mail him the night before to remind him the next day is whatever occasion. Better to have a significant other who remembers you on Tuesdays than someone who remembers you ONLY on Valentine%26#039;s Day, whatever. He called at all, even though he didn%26#039;t remember it was a holiday. Call him on those days, and wish him a happy Valentine%26#039;s Day if it%26#039;s that important to you.
Reply:yes he sounds like a bum
Reply:Please, you are dealing with a military man so this comes with the territory.

If you need to be coddled, then you might want to avoid policeman and military men.
Reply:if acts this way now hell act this way later. if its important to you that he remembers these days you need to tell him, and remind him.

Hey honey my birthday is coming up are we doing anything? are you sending me anythign ect..

My boyfriend is the same way and because i didnt want to lose my vday this year i reminded him it was coming up and have asked him 2 times what we were doing. He said he hasnt decided yet but we%26#039;re def doing something.

Try telling him its important and remind him, he may need it
Reply:just dump him
Reply:i say talk to him let your feelings be known and if he doesn%26#039;t respect that then you need to move on because it will not change after the wedding so why set your self up for more heart breaks and disappointments.? the answer is right there in front of you and well have to say it too he might bethinking other things and in not into that much any more.. he%26#039;s back home after being in the army and well he may be rekindling old friendships and that may mean old girl friends as well..
Reply:Yes and no. I agree with you that it really is upsetting that he continually forgets about days that are very important to you. there%26#039;s just something wonderful about being with a guy who goes out of his way for an opportunity to let you know he loves you and appreciates you. That said, some girls can be more sensitive about these things that guys (and vice versa).

It sounds like you have talked about the issue, so I don%26#039;t want to be redundant and suggest it again. I guess I would evaluate the relationship as a whole. if he a really selfish, careless guy and it seems like he is forgetting this stuff because it just doesn%26#039;t matter to him how you feel, I%26#039;d say you have a big problem!

But if he really is a loving boyfriend and he does try to make you feel special in general, it might be one of those thing you will have to keep discussing and working on over the course of your relationship. If this is the case, he%26#039;s probably not doing it to be a jerk, he just genuinly forgot.

Either way, it looks like it definitly might be something you have to deal with throughout your marriage. I guess you have to decide if he%26#039;s worth it. If he is something really special, I would suggest hangin in there, talking some more, and trying to work something out.

If this behavior is just an extension of an already selffish, insensitive personality, I would seriously consider if you want to be with this guy for the rest of your life.

Good luck with whatever happens! Remember you are a very special girl and you deserve to be with someone who really cares about it, but it this guy or someone else.
Reply:u could tell him how important this is to u, and also i think u are over reacting a little bit, cakes for 3 months left? please
Reply:yes I think any girl would be devastated I%26#039;m a guy and I am one of the few that treats the girls even more on those days you girls have to put up with I lot from us guys.I do not think you 2 should get married, hello!!!!!!! neck pillow for xmass there is plenty of us good guys out there just be patient you are only 21 keep your head up keep smiling all the best
Reply:Yes, if I were in your shoes, I would surely be devastated.
Reply:get rid of him.

thats so rude.

What flowers represent 10 year anniversaries?

I%26#039;m having a surprize anniversary dinner for my parents and its their 10 year and other than knowing that aluminum represents 10 years- i don%26#039;t know any other representations for the year- any help would be great. And any party tips would be most helpful?

What flowers represent 10 year anniversaries?
My dear friend,

I learned what the color and relationship meaning of roses meant a long time ago. I would surely think you could look these up today, easily via the internet or to call a local flouriest.

I recommend that you buy two of each of the flowers that you learn about, put them all together, and present to your loving parents. Include a card that explains the meaning of each pair of colors on a card and just let them absorb. After a weekend of privacy, they will surely be every so glad to see you and discuss all that happened. Hmmm, want to fill us in? God Bless you, such a sweet and thoughtful heart.
Reply:If you can, try to find a picture of your Mom%26#039;s wedding bouqet and take it to a local florist. Give them those flowers and see if they remember. I did this for my parents 25th. It makes it unique.
Reply:red roses. classic
Reply:WHITE ROSES THEY REPRESENT PURITY
Reply:the 10 year anniversary flower is the daffodil
Reply:I think you should get daisies. White, pink, and a light blue.......Simple and sweet. I would show them that you care. Don%26#039;t go with the cliche of red roses. I think that is too impersonal. Put some thought into it and they will love it more.

What is a good replacement for flowers to send to a guy on his bday?

I want to make my fiance feel special on his bday/our anniversary the way flowers make a girl feel special when they%26#039;re delivered to her. The only thing I can come up with is chocolate-covered fruit but he doesn%26#039;t really like chocolate-covered anything. Any other suggestions? I want to be able to call this in and have it delivered to his office.

What is a good replacement for flowers to send to a guy on his bday?
i dont think u can really do that for a guy...
Reply:We men are easy, just give him a card while he%26#039;s at work and give him his real present when you two settle in for the night, catch my drift?
Reply:Insted of Roses on his piano, how about two lips on his organ.
Reply:if he has a sense of humor, a singing telegram
Reply:balloon will beembarrassing enough, maybe a letter from you with, well, whatever ou choose to put in that letter...

they also sell fruit arrangement w.o the choc.
Reply:Hey! Do you know making anything with your own hands? Okay, if not then simply get a nice wrist watch for him and put a message tag like this: I will always have time for you.

I woul love a hand-made gift if you were going to send it to me. Haha!!!
Reply:You can get the eatable fruit arrangements.
Reply:Oh man, this works really well! Get him a candy bar bouquet!! These are sooo cool, and they can cost about as much as a bouquet of roses! He can show it off at work or at home, and the best part... he can eat it instead of watching the flowers rot.

:)
Reply:ok send him some tickets to a concert or something but if uu cant afford that send him ... idk guys dont like much but cars and sex ... lets see here... ... ... i know send him a real nice watch cant go wrong with a good watch (not mechanical get the old regular type)
Reply:i don%26#039;t think that there is anything quite like flowers, but..... maybe..... a really nice card or something, and hey, maybe you could just send him some flowers, guys aren%26#039;t as sentimental as girls anyway.
Reply:so that he doesnt 4get to use them 4 ur safety, box of condoms
Reply:I sent my boyfriend a cookie bouquet for Valentine%26#039;s Day and he loved it. (It ended up arriving the day before, which was even more of a surprise.)

I got mine from http://www.cookiesbydesign.com and he was quite pleased with it (although I thought the cookies didn%26#039;t taste very good, lol -- I%26#039;m sort of a cookie connossieur though). If you do a web search for cookie bouquets, you%26#039;ll find many other providers to try.
Reply:They now make %26quot;cookie bouquets%26quot; It looks like it would be a flower arrangement, but it is made out of cookies. Really cute, and good!
Reply:For Valentine%26#039;s Day, I asked all my guy friends what men really want.

%26quot;You really wanna know?%26quot;

%26quot;Other than a good lay.%26quot;

%26quot;Can%26#039;t really think of anything else.%26quot;

Try something that involves him coming home to you wearing an apron and heels. Position yourself in the bedroom, on your knees at the front door or draped over the dinning room table.

That%26#039;ll work.

4th wedding anniversary present for a guy?

Any ideas on what to get my husband for our 4th wedding anniversary? Definetly not flowers, or stuffed animals.

He loves fishing, but he has every fishing rod and reel ever made. I want to get him something different.

Any ideas are appreciated.

4th wedding anniversary present for a guy?
Fishing trip to Alaska.
Reply:How about this? Why not do something for the both of you? try this i promise you will never forget it. Make a reservation at a Hotel/Motel send him off to work then take a note and put in his car at work and it should read something like this: For the time of your life meet me at this address. or you could meet him at his work and kidnap him and take him to the spot. now if you have him meet ya there you can have some special take out bottle of champagne and be dressed for the occasion!!! it works everytime for me and I%26#039;ve been married for 17 yrs. I don%26#039;t always wait for the anniversary sometime i just do it b/c. Its great and its kinda like starting over if you know what i mean.... if you try it let me know how it goes

Should I buy him Flowers?

I want to buy my boyfriend some flowers for our anniversary. Do you think he would like it? What should I get him instead?

Should I buy him Flowers?
Yeah, do it. They like flowers they are just too afraid somebody will call them a sissy if they say so. So...1)Don%26#039;t send them to where he works unless he is the boss or the biggest guy there. 2) don%26#039;t get roses they are overdone. Get something big and showy like star lilies or ... Go to the shop and ask for the butchest flowers they have.
Reply:hell no he should bye you flowers
Reply:NO flowers! He would say awww how sweet, and pitch them. Better to take him out to lunch or dinner . your treat!
Reply:Treat him to a meal, either out at a restaurant or a picnic, or just bring him Chinese or something he likes to eat. Women are esoteric, men are physical. Women appreciate flowers, men appreciate food. ;)
Reply:thats a girl thing that boys do. gift him a gizmo, or ... chocolates will be economical and sweet!!!

Anniversary surprise. Help needed from the ladies!?

Background: I do all the typical anniversary gifts, flowers, cards, jewelry, fine dinners, massage, her favorite chocolate etc... for the past 6 years.

For the last 2 anniversaries she%26#039;s been pregnant or just given birth a month before.

Here%26#039;s the dilema; I want to take her on trip to UK, France, Germany, and a day or so in Amsterdam. We have two children under 2 years old. Our family is more than willing to stay with the girls for us to get away.

With such a commitment on time and family resources I am uncertain of doing this as a surprise rather than planning it together. She%26#039;s a great mom and wife and deserves a gift like this without stressing over details.

what do you think?

Anniversary surprise. Help needed from the ladies!?
A trip to Europe for most people is a once in a lifetime event and it should be special. Make it more so by telling her your plans then planning the trip together. That doesn%26#039;t prevent you from planning a couple extra surprises during the trip to make it that much more memorable. Maybe hire violinists to play at a Great restaurant that you have agreed to go. Hire a photographer to follow you around one day. Order her an outfit from a Paris designer. I am sure you can improve on these suggestions. Have a great time.
Reply:i dont know. because she might not like the fact of leaving her 1yr old with her so far away. i mean she%26#039;ll go but she%26#039;s goign to b buggin you about %26#039;you think she%26#039;s ok%26#039; or mayb not. i dont know. has she mentioned going out of states LATELY? if not, then maybe watch the travel channel and b like %26quot;o dear, wouldnt that be nice to go if we could go right now?%26quot; or something like that and see what she says.
Reply:i think you should spring it on her, and then plan it together. That is a big committment to leave your children for a far away spot. Way to go!
Reply:Giver her a little heads up but tell her that the arrangements have already been made for the children. Tell her that this is a chance for you two to have fun together and you want it to be very relaxfull and fun. Ask her if she wants you to plan the whole trip and pack or if she would like to help. That way she can do what suits her best. Also when you are over there spoil her. It sounds like you already do and she is a very lucky woman.
Reply:Do it! It%26#039;s just once a year and your family is willing to stay with your kids so i guess there%26#039;s no problem about that. And a surprise trip with her will surely be a great idea. Every wives dream that and you still deserve to have some privacy. I know she%26#039;ll love it! =)
Reply:by now, you should know her well enough to know if she%26#039;d rather help plan the details or be surprised. since you don%26#039;t...[why is that?] buy a nice, small photo album and put in the slots pics you%26#039;ve downloaded, etc from the differant places you wish to take her. do a pic of a nice resturant, etc.. wrap that and give it to her at a nice dinner for her gift. tell her she can replace the pics you%26#039;ve put in for the real pics of the trip. then, follow through and really take her.

Need info on wedding flower table centerpieces and flowers.?
Candles always make a pretty center piece and alot of fun is when people put those disposable cameras in the center of the tables and have the guest take the pictures for the couple. That way everyone gets to be apart of the big day and believe me if it%26#039;s a slow crowd or a stiff crowd it%26#039;s a great way to get everyone to have funand smile. Congrats and Good Luck
Reply:ask the florist
Reply:Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary certainly deserves an excellent party. The marriage has lasted through Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Clinton and two Bushes. This much history demands planning a wedding anniversary that will be remembered for 50 more years.

Try using the flowers that were origionally used on the wedding day. That should bring a sentimental element to the whole event!

Good luck!
Reply:if you can look at brides photos - try to copy her bouquet flowers. roses are always classy or ask the bride which are her favorite flowers
Reply:Don%26#039;t go for huge tall centerpieces. Kind of distracting when trying to talk to someone on the otherside of the table.
Reply:You know what maybe a neat idea instead of flowers is to have vinyl records of albums that were popular 50 years ago as a centerpiece. I am thinking if you can%26#039;t get records, some sort of artifact, from that time frame. Maybe even pictures of their wedding.

Which flowers go to these wedding anniversaries?

16th 17th 18th 19th 21st 22nd 23rd 24th 35th 45th 55th 60th 65th 70th 75th and 56th wedding anniversary i would be grateful if any one knows of the right flower to these anniversaries thank you

Which flowers go to these wedding anniversaries?
There is no such thing. After the 15th anniversary, it starts going in 5 yr. increments, so the next would be the 20th (cutting out 16, 17, 18, 19) then it jumps to the 25th (cutting out 21, 22, 23, 24).

The 35th, 45th, 55th, 60th, 65th, 70th %26amp; 75th do not have flowers associated with them, only gems %26amp; certain colors. And the 56th isn%26#039;t recognized as many of the above weren%26#039;t in the first paragraph.

Ok today was my 1 year anniversary with my g/f. and i got her a psp and flowers and made her a cake and stuff?
Do you want your girlfriend%26#039;s love or do you want a Jersey?

It sounds like you two have a lot going for you. She tried to find it--so she didn%26#039;t forget. Love is not about a %26quot;scorecard%26quot; (dollar for dollar). What did you want when you got her a PSP besides her happiness? Anything more than that takes away from the gift, doesn%26#039;t it? Give for the sake of giving, not for what you get in return.

Enjoy the brownies and the card. She sounds loving enough that I%26#039;ll bet one day the jersey shows up as a gift on another occasion. And if it doesn%26#039;t, and you still have her, does it really matter?
Reply:Ugh. She thought of you! Isn%26#039;t that enough? It%26#039;s wonderful that you went all out, and I%26#039;m sure she appreciates it. You need to return the favor. The gift loses meaning, if you give it hoping for something in return. She tried to get you what you wanted, she still made brownies and got you a card, what more do you want from the girl? Maybe some cash would prove she loves you better?
Reply:Just let it go, you are not suppost to give gifts to receive them, so just be happy with what you got. She could of just left you with nothing.
Reply:just ignore it its not her fault its the stores besides isnt she enough?
Reply:Let it go or brace yourself for a huge fight. Girls are supposed to get better presents. That%26#039;s how you keep us happy and if we are happy then you get to be happy too.
Reply:Gifts should be from the heart, not to appease material desires. The brownies and card were an appropriate gesture from your girlfriend because they appear to be heartfelt. As for the PSP, you can either blow it off or ask for it back and return it. The best choice would be to let it go and remember not to make the same (expensive) decision twice.
Reply:nice question. personally, if you pamper a girl too much and let her know that you need her, she wouldn%26#039;t respect you as much. that%26#039;s how a girl works. the more you push, the more they%26#039;ll just pull away. to me, it looks like you are the weaker link in the relationship. i hope you see the honesty in my reply rather than criticism. about the jersey... i wouldn%26#039;t say it directly in a teenage relationship...use your cunning to achieve your goal, that%26#039;s why your wit is there, to use. good luck

Roses, tulips, a lot or varies of flowers....
Reply:Roses will be good.
Reply:aww thats nice...at school we do purple carnations because it means freindship
Reply:I like yellow roses...they%26#039;re pretty and they don%26#039;t symbolize romantic love or anything...otherwise a bright mixed bouquet of just about anything would be appreciated by your friend.
Reply:Yellow roses represent friendship.

Our 1yr anniversary is coming. what can i get my wife rather than the flowers and candy thing?

You should definitely get a card that symbolizes your love for her. I have been married for 6 years and I have kept every card my husband has given me!

If she likes flower%26#039;s get her that as well. Try taking her out to a romantic restaurant or perhaps the place you proposed? Try taking her to the place where your first date was. The possibilities are endless. Treat her to a candlelight dinner at home if you think she would like that instead of going out. Perhaps you can even make her a nice romantic meal with a dessert.

If she wears jewelry or has been eying something in particular that would be a great gift as well! Maybe she likes lingerie? She might like it that you have picked that out for her. That is what I got for my 1st yr. anniversary and I loved it because it was something that he picked out just for me.

Make sure you haven%26#039;t missed any %26quot;hints%26quot; from your wife! I hint all the time to my husband and it is 50/50 with him. LOL

Good luck %26amp; congratulations!

Our 1yr anniversary is coming. what can i get my wife rather than the flowers and candy thing?
i recommend you take her to the a nice restaurant and take her to the beach afterwards. when you guys get home surprise her with pictures on your bed of when you guys were dating or your first marriage pictures and remember the ol timez. make sure the bed is made and you have some candles lit.!!! good luck
Reply:Get away for a romantic weekend, perhaps at a Bed and Breakfast. Give her a gift certificate to a spa where she can be spoiled silly. Turn your television off for the week leading up to the anniversary. Don%26#039;t buy a card, make it yourself.
Reply:Get her a necklace or a bracelet %26amp; flowers
Reply:Well an idea is 2 recreate the nite u proposed 2 her along with flowers and so forth.
Reply:I understand you don%26#039;t wanna make it one of those things where you give her candy and flowers and a romantic night like normal, try getting her something she is interested in she will probably enjoy that. And give her a romantic night as well.
Reply:why don%26#039;t you reserve a room at a bed and breakfast? Then pack a few things for her and pick her up from work. If she likes surprises.....
Reply:A nce dinner and romantic after and a nice necklace or braclet would b good ! Oh but do give the flowers and candy first and jewlery over dinner !
Reply:Think of a special place that you and her both love. Maybe take her to the first place you met or the first place you actually went out on a date together. Maybe u have a special song that you can find and play on the way to your special date...
Reply:How about a night or even a weekend away? No where fancy, just somewhere other then home. You could take her to a nice dinner (or order room service) and just stay at a cozy hotel. This way it%26#039;s just the 2 of you away from everyone/everything!

Should I bring flowers to cheer up a co-worker on the two year anniversary of her husband's death?

I%26#039;m not sure if it will just make things worse to start her day off with a reminder. On the other hand, I think it will be on her mind all day anyway and maybe I could cheer her up a bit. What do you think?

Should I bring flowers to cheer up a co-worker on the two year anniversary of her husband%26#039;s death?
get her a stripper better
Reply:Yes- I think you should. You%26#039;re doing it from your heart and that%26#039;s the best thng to do. Be prepared if she starts crying...
Reply:Definately not. I speak as someone who%26#039;s suffered loss. Sympathy and reminders are comforting during the days just after, but otherwise, mourning is not to be shared. Unless the mourner brings it up first and wants to share.

Your flowers may well devastate your friend and set them back bigtime. There is no %26quot;cheering up%26quot; after a death. Just moving on.
Reply:Depends on the person. If you think it will make her fall apart, then definitely not. If you think she will appreciate it, then why not. Also, so it doesn%26#039;t seem a little morbid, why not give them to her a day or two before the date. She will likely start getting a little blue a few days in advance. A simple %26quot;thinking of you%26quot; card would also be nice.
Reply:I think you are a very caring person to feel her loss %26amp; I know she%26#039;s appreicate your kindness %26amp; I bet she even feel better knowing some one cared.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s a good idea to show her you care and are there for her. If she is still single she probably misses people doing those types of things.
Reply:I think marking the memory of a very sad occasion is a kind thing to do. It shows her that you really do think of her feelings, and not only when you are at work. It will be on her mind and you are acknowledging this and thus making it easy for her to share her memories. The dead do need to be remembered and life should be celebrated, both the good and bad moments. You are a kind friend and she%26#039;s lucky to work with you.
Reply:If it was me I would think that it was nice of you. But, I would do it maybe a few days before the anniversary. That might be better than getting them on the day of his death, that might be weird for her.
Reply:That would be pretty darned stupid. What if the only reminder she had was your stupid flowers. Let the dead stay dead.
Reply:I have a friend that described the one year passing of her husband while at work.

She felt that everyone ignored her, perhaps because they didn%26#039;t know what to say. If someone at at least acknowledged it - she would have felt that people remembered and offered her some comfort in knowing they were thinking of her. She felt alone and isolated and went home crying.

I don%26#039;t think the flowers will be a %26quot;reminder%26quot; for her - she hasn%26#039;t forgotten!

To know that someone else hasn%26#039;t forgotten can make a huge difference in her day however!

Bring her anything, even a simple card, to let her know you%26#039;re thinking of her. I think your thoughts are in the right place and she%26#039;s lucky to have you as a co-worker.

I don%26#039;t understand why people are so cruel with their opinions here at times.
Reply:I think it depends on how she acts about this day to day. Does she talk about this subject alot, or share personal hardships of grief with you and others often? I assume she must because as I am a very closed in person you probably wouldn%26#039;t know the anniversary of my husband%26#039;s death, as I am more private and prefer to grieve alone I wouldn%26#039;t bring attention to it at all. So then if she mentions it from time to time or has it pinned up on her calendar, yes I suppose flowers would be a kind gesture. Maybe support and consolation is her form of grieving. That is very sweet of you and I think she would be touched.
Reply:No, treat her to a nice lunch or take her to dinner after work.
Reply:How close are you to this co-worker? If so, then you would have a fairly good idea if she would like the flowers or not.

Personally, I think it%26#039;s a nice idea. It will still be a sad day but it is nice that someone remembers.

You don%26#039;t have to get a big arrangement- maybe a bud vase with some roses and baby%26#039;s breath. A little card saying %26quot;Thinking of you today%26quot; or something like that.
Reply:Save the gesture for her birthday.
Reply:Absolutely! what a kind thing to do. If you hesitate doing it on the anniversary of her husbands death, save it for the day after with a card that might say how great you think she is doing and what a power of example she is to others.

Something tells me that working with someone like yourself, who is so kind and thoughtful will be a great help for her.
Reply:I use to buy my mom flowers every year on my dad%26#039;s death date. Only after 20 years did she finally tell me that it was hurting her more than helping. I advise you just lend an ear if she needs to talk. Odds are she has gotten to a stage though where she can mourn alone.
Reply:Yeah do it, let us know how that works out when you%26#039;ve been given the okay to leave the hospital.
Reply:I think it would be a very nice gesture.
Reply:How do you know she%26#039;s gonna be down and need cheering up...no.....don%26#039;t bring flowers....that will only remind her. Go out to lunch, do something goofy , just anything that will make her smile ....
Reply:Yes, I think that will be sweet.
Reply:Why not take her out to lunch instead? And just ask her how she is doing. Don%26#039;t remind her of the date. And it is nice of you to remember.
Reply:I agree that you are being a good friend and co-worker by remembering. Maybe instead of flowers, either sending a card, or just letting her know that you remember and maybe offering to go to lunch with her...she%26#039;ll certainly appreciate your rememberence and thoughts no matter what...
Reply:This is soooo personal, as you can also see from the responses... some people who%26#039;ve lost someone like it and others don%26#039;t... my mom loves flowers, they very much cheer her up. She always buys herself some extra flowers on my dad%26#039;s birthday %26amp; anniversary of his death and for many years her best friend would bring her some too... she very much appreciates that, it doesn%26#039;t %26#039;keep reminding her%26#039; instead she%26#039;ll probably shed just a tear or two and then the flowers will remind her of the good and happy times they had. She wouldn%26#039;t like %26#039;distracting%26#039; stuff at all, that would probably make her cry harder! But others will want to try and forget. If you know your co-worker, you%26#039;ll probably know best or if you aren%26#039;t that close to her maybe there%26#039;s another co-worker who%26#039;s more of a personal friend to her you could ask for advice?
Reply:No. Give her flowers some other time that way they will be appreciated as a cheer up gift not as a reminder that her husband has been gone for two years.
Reply:Not a good idea at all
Reply:I agree with the folks who say it is probably not a good idea, but your heart is in the right place.

I did not work on the anniversary of my mother%26#039;s death for many years, if it were my wife, I think it would be much longer.

However; maybe you could ask her if she would like to have lunch with you somewhere that isn%26#039;t crowded (if that is even possible). If she feels like opening up then and sharing, you can lend her a sympathetic ear, without forcing the issue or having a potentially embarrasing moment in public.

It%26#039;s easy to help folks in the good times and emergencies, bless you for thinking of them when it is bad, but not obvious.
Reply:depends on whether you want to ask her out or not.

Anniversary. Today is our 5th and I just received flowers?

I%26#039;m a bit annoyed because we don%26#039;t have money for extras like that. And I feel bad for feeling this way. We have company coming in next week and this money could have been used for that. Am I wrong to be a bit upset? I think it is very thoughtful of him, but at the same time, its the money thing and the arrangement was obviously expensive.

Anniversary. Today is our 5th and I just received flowers?
It%26#039;s ok to feel this way, but now is not the time to bring it up. Later on, you can mention that you would rather not get flowers - there%26#039;s nothing wrong with this. I personally don%26#039;t care about flowers - they just make a mess; my husband knows how I feel, and has no problem finding other (less cliché) ways of expressing his affection. I told my husband pretty early on - if you ever get a funny desire to buy flowers, just look up how much they cost, count out the cash, and put it on my desk; then I will know that the sentiment was there, and it%26#039;s the thought that counts.
Reply:Yup, I get it. :) Had the same issue with my ex; I was working 7 days/week, sometimes we%26#039;d have barely enough to pay the bills - and he insisted on bringing me flowers, when I didn%26#039;t even like flowers. We had a few arguments over it. But if it%26#039;s only once in 5 years - it%26#039;s not so bad. Just enjoy it. Report It

Reply:getting mad at him for him being nice to you is being a *****. lots of women don%26#039;t get that at all, and would love that so stop complaining about it and be happy. GOD
Reply:He wanted you to know how important you are to him. Get over the money deal. He wanted to do a good thing for you to show his love.
Reply:take the gift and dont be angry he felt it was important its not like he went out and got you diamonds thank him and do something nice for him
Reply:Come on it is your anniversary and he wanted to show he loves you. What women does not want flowers sent to them for there anniversary. I understand getting mad about the money issue but enjoy the flowers and deal with that later. Would you of wished he did not thing at all? Be grateful for what you have.
Reply:He could have been setting money aside for the flowers over the last several weeks or so. Don%26#039;t get angry and call him out on it. Just appreciate the gift and let him know how much you appreciated it and love him.
Reply:Remember... it%26#039;s the thought that counts on a gift. Your husband%26#039;s heart was in the right place... thats all that counts. Cover him with kisses and let it go.... gifts from the heart sometimes have no logic attached. Thats why they are so special.
Reply:sometimes it%26#039;s hard to be a women
Reply:It%26#039;s only money and you%26#039;re more important to him. This is much better than him forgetting.

Besides, you don%26#039;t know how much he paid for this or if he%26#039;s been putting some money aside for the flowers.

Cheer up and enjoy your anniversary.
Reply:Let him spoil you a bit -- enjoy your anniversary!
Reply:Count yourself as blessed., and let him know you%26#039;re grateful. Then in the fullness of time, let him know that you love him even without expensive presents, and even more when it%26#039;s spent on other things you care about.

If you jump on him for his actions he%26#039;ll quickly learn to dread ALL special occasions. :-)

You don%26#039;t know but that he might have got a special deal from a friend at work or something like that. It takes away most of the fun for him if you start asking. Wait until he really screws up to be critical!
Reply:He could have borrowed the money. He remembered, you got something and not just a card. Be grateful. I got flowers I was allergic to once. I never let on because I didn%26#039;t him to feel like his effort was all for nothing. What did you get him?
Reply:I%26#039;d bet you are the type to ****** if you DIDN%26#039;T get anything on your anniversary
Reply:Did you both agree previously not to buy each other anything for your anniversary?

If not, then be happy he is a thoughtful man.

The only time I have EVER gotten flowers is from a customer of mine on my birthday who wanted to impress the 20 year old I worked with so he could get into her pants.

Relax and enjoy them!
Reply:No sense worrying about something you can%26#039;t change. I%26#039;d thank him for the gesture, but also remind him that if things are tight, next time you should talk together about any purchases he or you may be contemplating.

Happy anniversary!
Reply:Don%26#039;t make a big issue of it. He loves you. Maybe he got them cheap. Also, since he did it just cut back on something else. That way you%26#039;ll be even. Think about it.
